never!!!!
- Do not ever put Criss Angel on that list. The main reason I say that is the lack of ethics.

Not fair
- The list is not fair.Criss Angel&David Blaine undoutfully deserves a place in the top 5.We cannot say that "Criss is not a good magician beacause he uses more camera tricks".Copperfield also used camera effects while he 'magically' vanishes the statue, train etc. Both David &Criss performes incredible miracles in the middle of people. Both uses their surroundings to create a feeling in streets which cannot be found in stages where smokes and mirrors rule. and where is HowardThurston?

What about Houdini?
- Why wasn't Harry Houdini on here? It's ironic because google put him up and I used google to look for more great magicians and this list doesn't have Houdini. But I never heard of David Copperfield.

Here's MY list
- #1 David Copperfield (lets see.. My faves were... The transportation of that African elephant; the great wall of china show - chilled me as a kid - ummm I think he had a motorcycle trick he did on stage once which was pretty damned cool) #2 Criss Angel (his quarter trick, and then the levitation trick and finally the thread trick were wayyy too cool. I even think he coughed numbered coins up - IN ORDER - in one show.. but the human candle for his mom's bday - OMG! I would of beat him for a week if he'd done that to me!!) #3 Seifried and Roy (live animals - he's got my vote!) #4 Pen and Teller (sick humor) #5 David Blaine (so-so, but the kids love him) #6 Harry Houdini (never saw him perform obviously, but I've heard he was amazing. I would of loved to see him perform!)

best magicians of the world
- The magicians listed are all great. But I think that the world has forgotten about p.c.sorcar. I mean, he was called "the emperor of magic"! Why doesn't anyone mention his name?

Criss Angel Is The #1 Magician Lving
- Criss Angel has more hours of prime time magic on TV than any magician in the history of television. He is the most watch magician in internet history with more than 38,000,000 views on youtube alone (40 times more watched than DC), He has the number 1 best selling magic show in the world (plays for 3 times the amount of people per show than DC). He's in 40,000 retail stores in the USA alone. He had 50,000 fans show up to his demonstration. He's broadcast in 90 countries. So I'm sorry to say Criss Angel represents change and although magicians are scared of change - you cant knock his unparalleled success - HE IS THE KING OF MAGIC!

are you kidding me
- How can you leave harry blackstone Jr off the list and harry houdini leaving houdini off the list is like leaving Bruce lee off the all-time great of kung fu

Criss who?
- I've seen his TV show and a live performance as well. Doesn't have the grace, or techniques needed to be considered on this list. Regardless of the illusion or slight of hand he performs, I'm always left with the impression, he learned how to do it about ten minutes before he performed it. Bumbles and stumbles over his own patter. The Pendragons should have easliy replaced the thought of Criss Angel. Or for that matter, Rick Thomas.

Please acknowledge our mentors
- Some of you guy’s really aught to get out more. How many of you perform the Elmsley count or the Downs change – so where is Alex Elmsley and T Nelson Downs? Come to that, where is Paul Daniels – the most versatile magician in the world, or Rene Levand, John Scarne and Michael Vincent – Kings of Cards. Then there is Henry Roltair – the genius behind most of the most spectacular illusions ever known (ask the Pendragons). Check out ‘The Creation’ – devised by Roltair for the St Louis World fair in 1904 (yes you read it right). Of course Robert Houdin (seek out the ‘acrobat’ and check out Paul Daniels performing ‘The Orange Tree’ on Youtube), and how can we miss out St Leon and ‘The Broken Butterfly’. If phantasmagorical is your thing then pop along and see Lord Weber’s ‘Phantom of the Opera’ or his utterly stunning and spell-binding sequel ‘Love Never Dies’ to experience the shiver of master Phantamist ‘The Great Carmo’ - realised by Paul Daniels! Levantino out!

YOU LEFT OUT NUMBER ONE
- KOZAK THE MAGICIAN NO BRAH JUST FACT! I am Kozak's publicist and can tell you that Paul Kozak is the best "all around" magician on the planet. Close up, sleight of hand, illusions etc. Kozak Rules.

You missed P.C. Sorkar
- P.C. Sorkar and P.C.Sorkar Jnr is not in your list. They are perhaps the best magicians next to houdini.
- —Guest Joydeep
Great List
- ThougThough I might like to adjust the order you have selected all of the magicians I enjoying watching and or reading about. I am sure DC did not swear for effect. Have you been able to hold your tongue when you make a serious mistake with a trick?

Pretty Good List
- Not a bad list. I would change it around some. No one can argue with David Copperfield's success. In fact, I would say he may very well be the greatest showman in magic ever. No one works a stage like David. BUT... but, IMO, technically, Copperfield is only average. Lance Burton is far, far his superior technically. That's why I would put Lance at #1. I would add The Pendragons. Study Jonathan's magical philosphy and technically, in the past, The Pendragons were as close to perfection as you can get. I would take Penn and Teller off the list. I just never liked their style. However, most people don't realize that Teller's knowledge of magic, in general, is monumental. Jeff McBride should be higher on the list. Great magical mind and technically superior. I would've included Harry Blackstone, Jr. No Criss Angel or David Blaine!
