The Event That Inspired Me
When I was 8 years old, I saw the black and white movie "Houdini" with Tony Curtis. I became fascinated with magic and began checking out library books on magic every chance I got. That same year, "Santa" brought me an Adam's Magic Kit. I've been performing ever since! That was 43 years ago!
How the Event Inspired Me
I wanted to be able to do things that no one else around me could do. Just the thought of being able to entertain people like Houdini inspired me to take action to learn how. I bugged my Mom to take me to the library downtown, talked her into ordering things by mail for me and writing the checks needed to pay for them (paid for of course with money I earned through mowing yards, selling newspapers, and odd chores around the neighborhood).
What I'd Do Differently
- Spend more time practicing and performing
- Become more active in or start my own "Ring"
- Attend more conventions
