Name of the Magic App and What it Does
"101 Deck" - This is an app you can use to reveal a prediction on your iphone. A spectator chooses a card, then you can show a photo of yourself holding that card. The cool thing about this app is that it is disguised on your phone, meaning that nobody will know an app was used. The photo you show is a real photo in the real photo library, so you end clean and the phone can be handled by the spectator. Why I Like It
At $9.99 this is more expensive than most apps, however I feel that good apps, especially magic apps, are very underpriced, and 10 bucks is still cheaper than what you'd spend on a trick at your local magic shop. What makes this app different is that nobody will ever know you used an app. This means that all the "how'd you do that?" factor will be placed on the magician, and not the app.
Advice
- A great way to bring your iphone into your magic routine. One of my favorite card tricks when I was starting out was pulling a photo out of my back pocket that shows me holding the spectators card. The most frequent response I got to this was "I bet you have 52 photos on you." Mostly a joke of course, but still that is the most common reaction. By using the "101 deck" app on your iPhone, the spectator can see that there is only one photo of a card in your album. A classic effect updated for the digital age!
