Review TSCTW (The Smallest Card Through Window)

Forget about throwing a selected playing card through a window. With TSCTW, you cause a tiny corner of a selected and signed playing to penetrate through the crystal into your watch. The corner is actually resting on the watch’s face, under the glass, an intriguing feat with potential.

Card Under Glass

A spectator freely chooses a card and signs it. You rip off a tiny corner of the signed card-we're talking about a quarter of an inch. You allow a spectator to examine your watch and then you lay the card corner on the watch’s face.

After waving your hand, the ripped-off corner is now seen to be inside of the watch. This is no illusion, it's actually there and the watch may be examined.

Instruction

The effect requires no duplicates or switches. The DVD explains the type of watch to use and shows you how to gimmick it. There are some low-cost tools that you'll need that should be available for only a few dollars. From what I can tell, you can still use the watch as your daily one if you like.

The DVD features no dialogue, just written, on-screen instructions in English and German. The instruction is adequate, but the accompanying music is obnoxious. I ended up turning off the sound to get away from it. The effect requires some basic sleight of hand skills, but there's nothing here that's overly difficult.

I find TSCTW to be a clever if offbeat idea that has the potential to get good reactions.
