Learning Shapeshifter

So how hard is Shapeshifter to learn and perform? I’ve been working on Shapeshifter for about a week. There have been several sessions where I’ve spent an hour at a time, while watching TV, just going through the move, over and over. I have small hands, which can be an impediment to performing the move, but with some work, I’ve found ways to get around this.

I’m at a point where I can flawlessly perform the move ten times in a row, which, according to my personal rule, is ready to be performed for an audience. Once in a while during practice the cards can still go flying, and I sometimes fail to complete the full move, but I’m consistent.

Before my stand-up shows this past weekend, I walked among the waiting audience to perform a close-up card trick that ended in Shapeshifter (instead of the usual DL). The audience response was very positive.

I know that Shapeshifter will become a permanent part of my card repertoire from here on. And if you want to learn Shapeshifter, definitely check out this DVD.
