Everyone knows that rabbits quickly multiply and sponge bunnies are a close-up classic that always receive a positive response from spectators. I hadn’t performed the sponge bunnies in a couple of years, and quite frankly, had forgotten how strong the routine plays.
In Daryl’s version, you magically produce a sponge bunny and sponge bird, and then, perform a short segment where the bunny and bird trade places and end up as two bunnies. From here, the routine follows the standard sponge bunny plot where the mama and papa rabbits mysteriously end-up together and produce offspring in a spectator’s hand. Once again, Daryl offers a solid and tested routine that will serve you well.
“Papa Rabbit Hits the Big Time” includes the sponge bunnies, which are different from conventional sponge bunnies, as well as excellent instructions. The foam bunnies allow you to perform the transposition where a bird in one hand becomes a rabbit, and the rabbit in the other hand becomes a bird. While this may fool some spectators, it’s mostly a funny gag.
While the sponge rabbits allow you to perform the transposition, they’re not as cute and cuddly as 3D sponge bunnies that you can purchase from other sources. The type of rabbits that you use will depend on the routine that you wish to present.
The effect is easy to learn and perform. Like the other products in Daryl’s Fooler Doolers series, the trick comes with an excellent DVD as well as printed instructions. When learning the routine, the DVD provides the performance and Daryl’s first rate instruction. And the instruction manual lets you follow along as you practice. With both a DVD and printed instructions, Daryl continues to provide an outstanding system to help you learn an effect.
In “Papa Rabbit Hits the Big Time,” Daryl has another entertaining winner. However, there are other options on the market for performing this effect.
