NUN! is a fast, hilarious routine

Michael Mode's NUN! is a fast, hilarious routine that works as a comedy bit between tricks.

I enjoy performing short, funny bits in between tricks in my strolling/close-up gigs. And now, with Michael Mode's entertaining NUN!, I have a hilarious new magic gag.

In the routine, a coin is used to illustrate a simple math problem. The magician takes a coin from the palm of one hand and asks "How many coins are left in my hand - one or none?" When the spectators says "none," the formerly empty hand is opened to display a two-inch tall plastic nun.

The package comes with the plastic nun statue and instructions. The handling is simple and easy to learn, and the clearly written instructions offer helpful color images.

Most should be able to learn the handling within 20-minutes, even with some time checking in the mirror for angles and flashes. In particular, if you're comfortable performing Chameleon Silks, you'll be quickly up and running with this one. Mode also offers tips on presentation and timing, and suggests options for a couple of different effects.

It's rare that I see a new effect and immediately begin to use it. But Nun! has quickly earned a permanent place in my close-up/strolling kit.
