Hiding Something
Im not accustomed to using gimmicked or even stacked decks in my card work. And I rarely allow spectators to handle cards. For example, in my Ambitious Card routine, I never allow spectators to hold switched-out cards or even push them into the deck. As a result, for me, working with a gimmicked deck-one that could be discovered with the revelation of a single card, was something that initially concerned me.Of course, the more natural and less nervous you are as a performer, the easier a trick is to perform. And this is the case with A New World. With the effect, I fried spectators, a few who had seen me perform the Impromptu OOTW. I incorporated a casual deck switch and used A New World as middle material. This way, I could perform a quick trick with a completely normal deck that was handled by spectators, and later bring out the gimmicked deck for A New World.
Theres More
Finally, A New World is no one-trick pony. The gimmicked half of the deck can act as a one-way, directional deck, and theres a reference card that lets you use part of the deck as an Aronson stack. There are numerous possibilities here. Another item worth mentioning, the booklet is particularly informative and instructive with lots of pictures. In all, Dean Dill and Michael Weber have created a whole new world for a classic and stunning card effect.
