"The Honest Cheat Poker Routine" offers an entertaining five-minute poker themed routine. It’s not hard to perform, requires no sleight of hand and can be performed with any deck. It will take some practice and there’s a setup that needs to occur beforehand, but this one is good.

Fair is Not Fair

You propose to play a hand of poker with a spectator and promise not to cheat. However, from the beginning, you are clearly cheating, which is a big part of the routine’s humor. As the audience will quickly point out, you are dealing yourself too many cards, discarding too few and ending up with more cards than your opponent.

To make the game fair, the spectator and two other volunteers pick their own hands from the discard pile. In the end, while the spectators end up with strong hands that include: two full houses and a straight flush, you end up with a royal flush in spades.

No Sleight of Hand

You’ll need a table for this one and can perform it standing or sitting. There is no sleight of hand and no angle problems-if you can deal cards you can perform this trick. You’ll have to select spectators wisely as they do have to understand the basics of Poker to make the right decisions.

This one is indeed entertaining and fun. And with all of the interest in Poker these days, timely.
