13 Magic Tricks
The DVD promises to teach 13 amazing magic tricks that use common items found around the house that include: playing cards, coins, paper bags, paperclips and more. The lineup of magicians includes such notables as: Jeff Hobson, Joseph Gabriel, Katalin, Losander, Max Clever, Jason Baney, Dan Sperry, and Roy Shank, each teaching a couple of easy magic tricks. In this regard, the DVD basically delivers.Many of the tricks are available in most beginning magic books, even those found in libraries. And many are taught right here at Magic.About.com.
A "Bonus"
The second feature, "Bonus Highlights," is a broken promise. The DVD promises to show you parts of each magicians' working act. The intro segment does show segments from each act, but it's about as much as you would see in a television commercial. Very disappointing.This DVD feels more like one to sell in Las Vegas after a show to enthusiastic spectators who may be interested in magic or want a souvenir. For what you get, it’s definitely not worth buying on its own for 35 bucks. And one last thing, couldn’t Las Vegas' greatest magicians afford a decent graphic artist to come up with a more attractive DVD cover?
