Trick Review: “Phantom Band 360" by Brian Rodgers

About.com Rating 3.5

By Wayne Kawamoto, About.com

A close-up bill penetration effect, this time, it's a rubber band that passes through a folded dollar bill. This visual effect requires no gimmicks and can be performed impromptu and surrounded. If you can use an "object" through bill effect that isn’t a pen, or if this one sounds like it can fit into your close-up or restaurant repertoire, it’s worth the look.

Band on the Run

You borrow a bill and clearly display a normal rubber band. You fold the bill in half and then fold the bill around the band-one end of the band is inside the bill and the other is outside. The entire band then slowly passes through to the inside of the bill.

For phase two, you show the bill with the band inside from both sides. From here, you take one end of the band out of the bill and then melt the entire band thru the bill.

Rubber Band Man

The effect is visual, immediately resets, can be performed completely surrounded. You can borrow the dollar bill and rubberband. Another plus, the effect is not difficult to learn and perform. This one is good.
