As Pearlman offers them, the effects here are far more about revelation than method, which is fine. In fact, Pearlman uses the same technique to derive the necessary information and encourages you to apply your favorite method.The technique that he uses, which is based on the work of Richard Osterlind, is not taught, but simply outlined here. The Effects
The first incredible effect is Listen to my Words. You meet a person for the first time and ask him or her to think of someone important from the past. You bring out a tape recorder and play a message that names the thought-of person.With Ultimate Vacation, you ask a volunteer to think of a past vacation. You bring out a fully stapled and sealed prediction and allow the spectator to tear it open. Inside is a business card with the vacation details including the name of a person that went on the trip.
In What's in a Name?, you hand a spectator a wallet for safe keeping and ask another spectator to think of someone special. You take the wallet and open it, and inside is found a business card with the thought-of name.
