Write Angle by Jesse Feinberg

About.com Rating 3.5

By Wayne Kawamoto, About.com

Seemingly a feat of mental, telekinetic prowess, the magician displays a Bic pen and then causes it to slowly bend by itself, until it’s turned in a 90 degree angle. This one is easy to learn and perform and at the end, you can hand out the pen for examination. It is truly stuck in a bent position.

Penned-Up Demand

The trick comes with a cleverly gimmicked pen and good instructions. This one has angle considerations that you’ll have to keep in mind when performing it. For all practical purposes, your spectators will have to be in front of you and not to your side.

There’s a bit of clean-up at the end that is easy to perform so you can ditch the gimmick and then handout the bent pen. There are no complicated switches.

Pen is Mighty

This is one of those tricks that you’ll have to setup out of sight. You’ll need to reach into a briefcase, for example, to retrieve and setup of the pen out of the sight of spectators. You can’t have the pen sitting in your shirt pocket and set it up in front of spectators.

Most spectators would probably expect you to mentally bend a spoon ala Uri Gellar. But if you want to bend a pen, “Write Angle” should serve you well.
