Every three years, the magic community comes together to compete in its version of the Olympics. Lots of big names have established themselves through this competition including: Lance Burton, Johnny Ace Palmer, Rocco, Lennert Green and many more. This excellent DVD presents an entertaining look back at the 23rd FISM World Championships of Magic 2006 that was held in Stockholm.

Technical and Theatrical Skills

One would expect to see lots of technical sleight of hand in the competition, but the big surprise is that the beyond the finger flinging and moves, many of the acts showcase strong theatrical approaches with themes and characters. The best of the "The Championships" have been edited together into an engaging program that’s complete with a host.

Magicians will enjoy watching and being fooled and admiring the technique and being entertained. And the show appeals to the general lay public as well. An extra on the disc is the hilarious "The Real Secrets of Magic" award winning short movie by David Stone. And there's also a screen saver for your PC.

Pricey, But Worth It

You'd expect to see crowning technical achievement from the 23rd FISM World Championships of Magic 2006, but you will also be entertained and inspired. It's a bit on the pricey side, but this title is a worthy addition to any magic library.
