Choose An Object, Any Object
In this bit of mentalism, three objects are placed in a row on a table. Lets say that the magician lays down a set of keys, a credit card and a watch. The spectator is handed a pen and asked to write down the object on the table that they are most drawn to.Even though the participant makes an absolutely free choice of any of the three objects and can readily change his mind, the magician reveals that he knew from the beginning what object would be chosen.
Freedom of Choice
The choice on the part of the spectator is completely free with no influence. This one is easy to perform and uses common objects, some of which are borrowed from audience members. Its flexible enough to be performed at any time either close-up or on stage. Abbott says that he often performs this effect as the opener of his grown-up shows. The trick comes with the necessary props and a DVD that offers excellent and thorough explanations on setting-up and performing the trick. Abbott explains how to adapt and perform the effect using three, five, six or ten objects. He also offers lots of tips, insight and subtleties into performing the effect.
Something Borrowed
Ive seen other tricks like this with similar methods that use playing or trading cards and envelopes and other objects. I prefer Mind Control because it uses everyday objects that may be borrowed, which enhances the mystery. This one is good.-Wayne N. Kawamoto
