On his DVD, Normansell offers a set of highly commercial, audience-pleasing effects, and none are difficult to do. I was particularly impressed with his ability to take close-up effects-a card transposition and coins across-and convert them into entertaining stage effects with lots of audience interaction. I also loved his diabolical and easy method for performing cards across.
The DVD feature good quality video. At times, I found Normansell difficult to understand, probably because of his rapid fire delivery and accent. But this did not detract from the performance. Normansell is an engaging performer who quickly delivers a lot of comedy one-liners, many of which magicians often use.
Good Material
Normansell offers excellent explanations that are thorough and easy to follow. The only downside to this DVD is that the music in the transitions is far too loud, which is an annoyance. I found myself constantly hitting my remote’s mute button.
With 100% Commercial - Comedy Stand-Up, Andrew Normansell offers a good set of effects that are within the technical means of almost any card and coin handler with basic skills. If an effect here sounds like it could be a good addition to your act, this DVD is worth your time.
