Here's a quickie effect. You bring out a Sharpie marker, wrap it in a dollar bill or piece of paper, and make it instantly vanish. There's no palming or pulls and nothing to do with your sleeves.

Looking Sharpie

This DVD comes with a Sharpie marker and the gimmick that you need to perform the effect. This one is ultra easy to learn and perform and is great for beginners. I particularly like the Mike Skutt version that adds a powerful convincer.

For completeness, Sankey teaches additional effects with a marker. The first lesson goes over the Flip vanish, a sleight of hand move that allows you to vanish pens, magic wands and more. Remarkerable offers a multiplying marker effect.

More Pen Tricks

Sankey's The Pen Is Mightier is a sucker trick with a Sharpie Marker. You make it appear that a cap is magnetically attracted to a marker. When someone else tries, they can’t pull the cap from the marker.

As he does with all of his DVDs, Sankey offers thorough instruction and explanation. Vanishink offers a quick effect that's easy to learn and perform. If you like the sound of this effect, the DVD is worth the look.
