As the name implies, this DVD features a great compilation of Gypsy Thread routines from such magicians as: Daryl, Bob Read, Eugene Burger and more. If you're interested in learning this well known effect, this DVD is well worth the twenty bucks.
Torn and Restored
Gypsy thread is basically the torn and restored plot applied to thread. The effect, when done correctly, is baffling and even exquisite to watch. In Gypsy Thread, you run out a length of thread from a spool, break the thread into tiny pieces and then restore the thread just as it was before.Most of the approaches on this DVD are similar. Henry Evans is the only magician to offer a significantly different take, one where the thread restores itself in a ball of flame and you're left completely clean. Cellini also offers a method to use thread that is more visible. My favorite routine and explanation was that by Daryl.
