Svengali Magic Cards
Perhaps the most popular and well known magic cards are those in a
Svengali deck. These magic cards are gimmicked so that anywhere that a spectator cuts will reveal the same card. Also, the decks allow you to display the deck with either different cards or being made up of a single card. Because of the gimmicking, Svengali magic cards cannot be examined by spectators. These magic cards are often found in beginning magic sets.
Stripper Magic Cards
A Stripper deck is a deck of magic cards that are gimmicked so that any card that's lost in the deck can be immediately found. In many cases, the cards may be cut and mixed by the spectator and the magician can still find the card. Stripper magic cards are subtly gimmicked and may be examined by spectators. These magic cards are often found in beginning magic sets.
Marked Magic Cards
Marked cards are mostly associated with card cheating, however, magicians can rely on marked cards that have almost undetectable codes on their backs so a magician can identify a single card. Marked cards are designed to not be noticed by spectators and thus may be freely handled and examined.
Force Decks
As the name implies, a force deck is a gimmicked deck of magic cards that allows a spectator to only choose a specific card. A one-way force deck allows a spectator to select a single card. There are also two and three-way decks that allow a spectator to select, respectively, two or three cards, and lots of variations. For the most part, force decks can’t be examined or handled by spectators.
