Written for kids, Gotcha! is mostly about magic. But the book delves into various paranormal and other-worldly themes. Most notably, it teaches 18 “freak-outs,” many of which are magic tricks. Written by magician David Acer, this is an entertaining book.

Monsters, Ghosts, UFOs, Oh My

The title investigates phenomena such as Bigfoot, crop circles, aliens, ghosts, the Loch Ness monster and more. "Doubting Dave" (Acer) and his team of Mystery Hunters investigate each phenomena and then teach some means to recreate it using real world and magic methods.

Ever wanted to make fake Bigfoot prints in your yard to scare friends? How about taking phony photos of a monster in the lake, a UFO, or a ghost? (Clearly, seeing is not believing.) You can learn an illusion that creates something that looks like a headless zombie and some of the magic tricks teach you how to bend a spoon or read minds, just as if you had telekinetic powers or could harness ESP.

Young Skeptics

The book features photographs and whimsical illustrations and is an entertaining read for kids as well as grown-ups. I highly recommend this book that can educate and inspire our next generation of thinking skeptics.
