You bring out a series of cards that foretell the future and a spectator randomly chooses one of twelve possible events. When the spectator turns the card over, it reads "you will make passionate love to a clown." And when the spectator looks at you, you are now wearing a red clown nose.This one comes with the cards and the clown nose and is ultra-easy to learn and perform as it requires no sleight of hand. The ending is indeed hilarious.
Outrageous Theme
Because of the suggestions of "making passionate love," I would never consider performing this one in any of my professional sets. I know that this may work for some performers and audiences, but this is not the type of persona I wish to portray.Another reason why I wouldn’t perform this one is because of its association with clowns. To start, I think that the trick is rather disrespectful to the art of clowning, a revered art in circuses and elsewhere, which is performed by talented and dedicated professionals.
Second, because of all the incompetent hacks out there who put on a red nose and cheesy wig and call themselves a "clown," I don’t want any such association with my magic.
The only time I could see performing this effect is with a couple where I ask the guy to secretly don the nose and have the lady pick the card. This could work. And if you’re hanging out with friends, this could be a great trick to perform.
