Steps:
Bring out the sealed envelope. Explain that there is a prediction inside. Give the envelope to an audience member for safe-keeping, or lay it on the table in plain site so everyone can keep their eyes on it.
Bring out the pair of dice. Ask an audience member to roll the dice and add up the numbers on the top and bottom to come up with a number. Take the dice and place them into your pocket.
Hand a spectator a book and ask him or her to go to the page with the number that has just been rolled. Ask the spectator to read out the first word on the page. Then ask the spectator to open the envelope and read out loud the word you had written. Enjoy your well earned applause.
To dress this trick up, you can use different books. For example, for a bit of mystery, you can use a Harry Potter book. Or if youre a student, you can find a word in a textbook that you use, and know that someone else will be carrying. The spectator will be amazed that you can predict a word in their very own book.
