This picture clearly shows how you press against the back card through the box and cause it to rise. This will take some practice.
To cover the movement of your first finger, it's a good idea to slowly move the card box in a circular pattern or wave it back and forth. As you move the card box around, the spectator’s card will slowly rise out of its box.
When the card is extended as far as you can push it, simply grab it with the other hand and verify that it is the spectator’s chosen card.
