Of course, don’t allow spectators to see what you’re writing. Just keep a casual attitude and don’t act as if you’re trying to hide anything.

If the title that you’re writing on each slip is short, and a spectator gives you a long title, be sure to stretch out your writing so it looks as if you’re writing that title. Thus, if you’re writing “Rocky” on each slip, for example, and a spectator says “Little Miss Sunshine,” you’ll want to make it look as if you’re writing the longer title.

And vice versa, if you’re writing a long title and a short title is given, you’ll have to write quickly. Perhaps a good thing to do in this situation is to ask the spectator a question such as “why did you name the movie” to take some heat off of your writing.
