The Trick
I reviewed this trick before (please click here to read my review), but now, Feinberg offers a DVD that teaches you how to make your own gimmicked pen, the secret behind the trick. The trick itself is fast and sweet. You bring out the pen, bend it with no hand movements and then hand it out for examination. The trick is not difficult to learn and perform.
The Teach
On the DVD, inventor Jesse Feinberg offers clear and thorough instructions. The process is rather involved and you'll have to purchase some parts as well as perform considerable cutting and other tasks. Just getting everything together can take some time and you may have to order parts from third party vendors. The DVD is priced at $24 and the trick is priced at $40. If I were serious about the trick, I would go with the DVD so I can make several gimmicked pens and save money.
The Break
Something Feinberg mentions on the DVD that I hadnt thought of when I wrote my earlier review is that spectators sometimes try to unbend the prop and then break it. As a result, it's good to make and have backups. Having a spectator break your $40 trick is not a good thing. While I'm intrigued with the trick, I've never tried it out in my walk around sets. For me, the effect is just too fast to create any real interaction with spectators.
MSRP: (US) $24
