David Blaine: Where's the Magic?
Now that David Blaine is off his gyro and safely on the ground, his recent stunt made me think about where hes going with all this human endurance stuff. And more importantly, if hes leaving magic behind. While Blaine began as a solid close-up magician in his early television specials, these days, theres little magic in his act. But by eliminating magic, I maintain that hes not getting the most out of his stunts.

At a press event at Hollywoods Magic Castle, Criss Angel, creator and star of A&E’s popular CRISS ANGEL MINDFREAK, was named 2005 Magician of the Year by The Academy of Magical Arts. The award is a fitting one for a star who is raising magics profile.
