David Blaine Inspires New Magic Products

By Wayne Kawamoto, About.com

Immediately following the ABC special, "Drowned Alive," Paul Harris, who is David Blaine’s creative director, announced new magic items that are now available via Ellusionist.com.

According to a recent release, some of the new effects were seen on Blaine's "Drowned Alive" special while others were chosen by Blaine, but didn't make the cut due to time restraints.

The new line produced by Harris features:

"Staked"-a solid steel spike that is hammered through a foot and shoe.

"Puncture"-a pen that is slammed through the center of a borrowed quarter.

"Strange Travelers"-a sleight-of-hand card trick that promises to confuse and amuse spectators (Kobe Bryant is seen in the special throwing cards into the air due to his frustration).

“Juan Hundred Dollar Bill Change" - a $1 bill is borrowed and visually changed into a $100 bill

"Self Tying Shoelaces" - an untied shoe ties itself with a slight shake of the performer's foot.

Harris is an inventor, magician, and magic consultant for David Blaine's television specials. His effects have been presented by magicians such as David Copperfield and Doug Henning.
