While experienced magicians can force a card from a standard deck using various processes, there are gimmicked card decks that accomplish the same thing.
One of the most popular trick deck of cards that can be used as a forcing deck is a Svengali deck.
A one-way force deck is a deck that consists of only a single card, for example, 52 ace of spades, which only allows a spectator to select the ace of spades. Likewise, there are two and three-way decks that allow a spectator to select, respectively, two or three cards, and lots of variations. These force decks typically can’t be examined or handled by spectators.
One commercially available card deck that I reviewed is the Excalibur Deck by Devin Knight. Commercial decks that are available from magic dealers typically offer a surefire means to force a card while allowing the deck to look like a regular one.
