Basic Magic Effect: Animation

Animation is a magic effect where an inanimate object mysteriously moves on its own accord or as if it's influenced by another, unseen force. In some cases, an inanimate object may appear to come alive as if it has a mind of its own and can control its movements.

A famous animation illusion is the haunted hank. In this case, the success of the illusion relies on the fact that a handkerchief seems to come alive.

A levitation such as the ring levitation can appear to be an animation. In this case, instead of simply rising, the ring would appear to think and react. This is also the case with the levitating pencil that can appear to want to jump out of a bottle.
