Review: Full House by Wayne Fox

Here's something different. A prediction with one of those sliding puzzles that you probably played with as a kid before you discovered a Rubik's Cube. I like the concept and find this one to be a workable effect. But those of you who prefer gimmicked props that work themselves or don't like to deal with some heat, will probably be disappointed.

The Sliding Puzzle

You hand a small sealed envelope to a spectator for safekeeping. You bring out a sliding number puzzle and pass it among audience members who freely mix up the numbers. The spectator opens the envelope and finds your business card inside. On the back is a series of numbers in a sequence that matches that of the mixed sliding puzzle.

The effect relies on two different methods: 1) if you’re wearing the proper gimmicked clothing, and 2) a pure sleight of hand method. Both are workable, but the first method is the preferred one because it’s cleaner. The second method will leave you in a situation where you may experience heat. Both are probably not for beginners.

Slide on Down

Instructions are clear and easy to understand. The kit comes with everything that you need, including the sliding puzzles. However, the puzzles are rather cheap and poorly made. The tiles don’t freely slide.

I give Wayne Fox lots of credit for creating something different. But this one is for more experienced performers.
