You’ll have to read the following instructions first before you attempt the tossing pattern.
As in the illustration, toss the ball in your right hand up in the air to about the level of your eyes. Try to make the ball arc towards your left hand.
When the first ball is approximately at the peak of its arc, begin to toss the second ball in your left hand in a similar arc towards your right hand.
At this point, the first ball that was tossed from your right will arrive in your left hand. Catch the first ball in your left hand.
Toss the third ball in your right hand up in the air towards your left hand.
At this point, the second ball that was tossed from your left will arrive in your right hand. Catch the second ball in your right hand.
Finally, catch the third ball in your left hand. You’ll end up with two balls in your left hand and one in your right.
Stop. Now, do the same thing but start with your left hand.
Toss a ball in your left hand up in the air to about the level of your eyes. Try to make the ball arc towards your right hand.
When the first ball is approximately at the peak of its arc, begin to toss the second ball in your right hand in a similar arc towards your left hand.
At this point, the first ball that was tossed from your left will arrive in your right hand. Catch the first ball in your right hand.
Toss the third ball in your left hand up in the air towards your left hand.
At this point, the second ball that was tossed from your right will arrive in your left hand. Catch the second ball in your left hand.
Finally, catch the third ball in your right hand. You’ll end up with two balls in your left hand and one in your right.
Stop. And begin the entire process again. You’ll be practicing this first phase over and over until you aren’t dropping balls and it feels comfortable.
