Create a magic day for your kids with some easy tricks that they can craft, construct and decorate. All of the easy tricks here can be made from materials found around the house or inexpensively purchased from a local dollar store. In a classic craft activity, kids can cut, draw, paint and glue, and then conjure, cast and spell. Wizard school, anybody?
1. Learn How to Perform the Magic Tube
Here's a trick that's as much a craft project as it is a magic trick, and it’s particularly good for kids. You show an empty tube and then magically produce items such as ribbons or handkerchiefs. All you need for this one is some construction paper, tape and ribbons.
2. Vanishing a Coin With Rings
Here's an easy magic trick that provides a great way to vanish a coin. Instead of the heavy industrial rings used in the example, feel free to substitute cheap plastic bracelets.
3. Sawing a Person in Half
Here's a simple version of the classic effect where the magician saws an assistant in half. It's a crafty version that only requires an envelope, paper and scissors. And young kids will have to concentrate (as well as be careful with the scissors) when performing this one.
4. Coin Dish
Here's a way for kids to magically multiply money. For this one, you’ll need a paper dish, some cardboard and tape. I admit that the dish in the picture doesn't look like much, but in reality, it's ready to help a kid perform some magic.
