As my own collection of magic-related items grows and seemingly takes on a life of its own, I've wondered what magicians do with their props and such when they retire from magic. Of course, magic props are almost useless and a mystery to non-magicians. And I've come across a magic trick or prop that I purchased years ago and couldn't recall how to use it, and in some cases, what it was even for.
This is why I found a recent article about magician Dick DeYoung so intriguing. At age 83, DeYoung is retiring from magic and auctioning off his magic props. You can read the story here.
