A story on Yahoo Small Business Advisor called "6 Habits of Remarkably Likeable People" offers six approaches to improve one's likeability. I'm not sure that all apply to magicians, but there's some good advice to be found within.

Magic is certainly not abput props or about ‘frying’ the audience. Being a magician is a statement about who you are as a person and magic helps to create a unique identity.
