The Magic of the "Monte"
I've never heard of magician Katherine Mills, but she looks to be an up and comer who can make a significant splash in magic. She recently offered an impressive performance in a video. Her version of "three card monte" is not an easy one to master, but she did a fantastic job. You can watch her performance here.
Magic for the Good of Others
Inspired by a great article that ran in the January 2013 issue of "The Linking Ring" that talked about magic organizations with charitable causes, I want to publicize helpful efforts on the part of magicians. First up is magician Tim Freeland who is hosting a magic show and donating all proceeds to an organization called "Feed My Starving Children." You can read about his efforts here. I applaud you Tim. May you inspire others.
Magician Shoot Ogawa
There's no doubt that Shoot Ogawa is a magician's magician. He's the subject of an article in the lay press that covers his lecture for an IBM ring. You can read about it here.
I always appreciate good themed magic and magician Daniel Greenwolf is premiering a new show that he calls "Celtic Magic." According to a recent article, the show "focuses on the beauty and magic of the Irish culture." "There's just so much beauty in Irish mythology and history that is intertwined with magic," says Greenwolf in the story. "I was surprised to see that no one had created a show like this before." The show integrates Celtic tales, music and themes and is scheduled to open for an eight show run. You can read about it here.
