More Magic For Orlando

By , About.com GuideSeptember 19, 2009

Follow me on:

A new addition to the Orlando scene is the Wizardz Magic Theater that bills itself as the only close-up magic theater in Florida.

I had an opportunity to talk with Kimberly and Erick Olson about their new venture.

WK: Where does Wizardz Magic Theater fit into the magic and entertainment scenes in Orlando?

Kimberly and Erick Olson: Wizardz Magic Theater offers something that no one else in Florida does, an intimate 50-seat close up and parlor theater that showcases 2 or 3 different magic acts each Monday night. Because we are in Orlando, we are able get some of the best known names in magic to perform for us when they are in town for vacation, corporate performances and trade shows.

Over the years, there have been a few large magic shows to open and close in Orlando - the overhead on a large production show in this town takes a large bank roll. We decided to go in the opposite direction with a small venue only one night a week. So far the formula has worked. Since starting the theater in August, we have sold out every Monday.

WK: Please tell me about the lineup.

K&E: Some of the Acts that have performed at Wizardz so far include: Micheal Ammar, Terry Ward, John Ekin, Erick Olson, Puck, TC Tahoe, Aldo Colombini, and John Armstrong

Wizardz Magic Theater is located at the Seralrgo Hotel and Suites in the Castle Theater, 5678 U.S.192 Kissimmee, Florida. Doors open at 6:00 pm and shows begin at 7:00 pm.

I’d love to see this expanded to include a Saturday morning kids show.
