Steve Dacri in Remembrance of Ed McMahon

Magician Steve Dacri is mentioned in a recent column that talks about the late Ed McMahon.

According to the column, Dacri designed a practical joke for actress Mariette Hartley who would volunteer to perform in an illusion. When Hartley made her escape from an on-stage box and crawled through a tunnel, she emerged out of a cake at a stag party, to the seeming delight of the participants.

It turns out that Dacri and McMahon were both from Massachusetts, their home towns being near each other. According to the column, at McMahon's request, Dacri performed a card to Clark candy bar for Dick Clark, McMahon's co-host from the old "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes."
