Leave it to Marco Tempest to come up with an intriguing new routine that blends card sleight-of-hand with virtual reality, technology, animation and video editing. It's all in a new YouTube video and routine that he calls "Augmented Reality."

The basic structure of the card routine is reminiscent of classic "Sam the Bellhop" by Bill Malone - telling a story with a deck of cards. Throughout, Tempest and his team have come up with some clever ideas.

Nice trick. It is kind of like “Sam the Bellhop” in a way. Is there a word for these ‘story tricks’? My Friend Jim Sisti used to do one which was similar wrt the deck of cards about the various sections of the deck, number of cards, suits, &c. I’ll have to ask him about it. And given that he is a LOT more knowledgeable about magic history I am sure that he could give me more background about it. One of my favorite lectures of all time was one of his about “Card to Wallet”, many years ago…
