Criss Angel's Million Still Up for Grabs?

Thursday November 29, 2007
Reviving a cause that was seemingly laid to rest with the conclusion of NBC’s Phenomenon, paranormalist Dick Brooks, director and head of the Houdini Museum, says that Uri Geller could still lay claim to Criss Angel's $1,000,000.00 challenge.

According to a recent press release, Angel challenged Geller on November 15th during the finale of NBC's nationally televised "Phenomonon." If Geller could tell Angel what was in his sealed envelope, Angel promised a million dollars of his own money.

Was Geller Given the Opportunity?
According to Brooks, Angel quickly cut off Geller when he appeared to be intuitively zoning in on the envelope’s content, rattling off dates that unknown to Geller were homing in on the contents. Geller said that Angel was born on the 19th, just 1 day prior to his birthday. He then said that he had bent his 1st spoon when Angel was 1 (years old.).

Brooks says that a nervous Angel, who knew what was in the envelope, cut Geller off and diverted attention by quickly opening the envelope. During the show’s finale, Angel revealed the contents of the envelope to be the numbers 911.

Callahan Accepted Challenge?
Angel also challenged paranormalist Jim Callahan to identify what was in his envelope, which resulted in the infamous altercation.

"I accepted the challenge through the producers of the Phenomenon show, as well as publicly on the NBC forum", Callahan is quoted in the release. "The only stipulation I made was that they confirm Angel had the million to pay out on live television as he said he would. I would turn over my prediction to the host to be read before Angel opened his. I assured the producers that if he had the cash I would take it from him on the show live. But alas no proof Angel has a million in liquid assets to pay out as per his contention."

Dick Brooks is a psychic investigator and a director along with magician Dorothy Dietrich of the Houdini Museum in Scranton, PA.
