Magic for the Gaming Masses
Magic has long been a theme in role play, fantasy and other style games. Now, magic becomes something of a reality through Nintendo’s upcoming "Master of Illusion" game for the Nintendo DS.
According to a recent press release, "Master of Illusion" will teach gamers how to perform magic and card tricks. It will also act as a virtual assistant.
Nintendo DS Interactions
Tricks exploit various facets of the Nintendo DS - magicians can draw faces that will speak the name of a selected card or audibly instruct a dog to fetch a selected item. The game comes with a deck of marked cards that is used in several of the tricks. Also, some effects rely on audio commands.
In all, the game features more than 20 tricks and offers step-by-step tutorials to assist budding magicians. A magic store clerk named Barbara walks users through various modes as users learn and perform tricks. In true gaming fashion, only a small percentage of the tricks are open at the beginning of the game. Users have to practice and master tricks to open more tricks.
The game will release on Nov. 26, 2007. It’s rated E(Everyone) and was developed by Tenyo.
