Amazing Randi - Chief Skeptic

Sunday July 22, 2007
This article talks about James Randi, otherwise known as "Amazing Randi." In addition to being an accomplished magician and escape artist, Randi is best known as the man who challenges claims of paranormal and extraordinary events and exposes fakes. He’s long been a thorn in the sides of psychic Uri Geller and faith healer Peter Popoff.

Randi perseveres in the good work. “It’s important,” Randi says in the article, “because any misinformation...of people claiming they can subvert nature, they can do real miracles and they want to be paid for it … that’s a very negative influence on society.”

In a somewhat related story, Uri Geller is teaming with Criss Angel in a deal with NBC to find a psychic successor. It’s to be an American version of Geller’s "The Successor," which was a huge hit in Israel.
