Magic Shop Gone in the Blink of an Eye

Tuesday February 13, 2007
This article in the Palm Beach Post talks about how magic shops are disappearing as a result of the web and other forces, and the closing of a local business, Mr. A's Magic Shop. Interestingly, the article attempts to explain a few magic secrets. It's hard to know whether the writer was behind this and tried to do some research on her own, or if the subjects in the story provided the topics.

"Magic is a vanishing art, no pun intended," says Larry Taylor in the article, a former owner of a south Florida magic store.

I beg to differ. Magic stores may be vanishing, but magic isn't going anywhere.

Yes it’s a shame. I learned magic by hanging out at the local magic shop. It was a place I could practice and perfect a routine before showing it to others.

It’s a really sad day.

Here’s a great resource to learn how to do magic.
