Mentalist Carves Niche on the Strip

Gerry McCambridge, "The Mentalist," has been steadily working in Las Vegas since July of last year. In June, McCambridge, along with Excalibur hypnotist Anthony Cools, moved into a former restaurant at the Stardust. In this article, McCambridge talks about his show and the challenge of promoting it and selling tickets through commissioned agents.

Lance Burton has been headlining in Las Vegas for some 15 years with his large scale illusions and productions. Newcomer Gerry McCambridge, on the other hand, is a mentalist who reads people's minds and is trying to create enough buzz at the Stardust so he can find a permanent home when the legendary showroom closes this fall. This article compares and contrasts the two performers on the Las Vegas Strip.
