"The Illusionist" Debuts on August 18

In "The Illusionist," Edward Norton plays a turn-of-the-20th-century magician who makes audiences think that he has supernatural powers. He falls in love with a duchess (Jessica Biel) and is monitored by a police inspector (Paul Giamatti). As you would expect, there’s lots of press regarding this movie.

According to this article, Norton mastered enough magic that he could adequately perform for his co-stars. "He learned ... sleight of hand and worked with Ricky Jay and immersed himself in the tradition and the history," says Director Neil Burger. "Everything you see, Edward did himself."
