Houdini Biography Tells Secrets but Doesn’t Reveal Magic

This review evaluates a new biography, "Escape!: The Story of the Great Houdini," which examines the magician's origins and how he became a household name. According to the author, Newbery Medal-winning author Sid Fleischman is the right guy to tell the story to youngsters. Fleischman happens to be a magician himself and met Houdini’s widow, Bess, who gave him previously unpublished photos of her husband.
