Commentary: Blaine Bores

“David Blaine's latest stunt is insulting to the genuinely deprived and boring for the rest of us,” says the writer of this commentary. Blaine, of course, is currently residing in a human aquarium that’s on public display and will attempt to break the world record at holding one’s breath. “What Blaine is practicing,” adds the writer, “is not the ancient art of magic at all...his nearest ancient equivalent would be those slightly overwrought teenagers who used to brick themselves into parish church walls, as a sign of their devotion to Christ.”
